Green goblin actor side few6/24/2023 Spider-Man: No Way Home writer Chris McKenna sat down with The Wrap and revealed how he and the team decided to make Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin the threequel's main villain. Green Goblin Steals Spidey's Spotlight Marvel Now, as more details come to life about how the movie was made, the story's writers shared how Goblin took his place at the top of the villain heap. When all was said and done, Marvel and Sony decided to make Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn the primary antagonist of No Way Home, giving the veteran actor the opportunity to dive fully into the Goblin persona more than he ever could before. Each of these villains found the opportunity to find some sort of redemption arc in the end, although that didn't come without plenty of expected chaos as they met and found new life within the MCU. No Way Home came as a true celebration of Spider-Man's extensive big-screen history as it featured five movies' worth of villains from the hero's various 21st-century theatrical releases. Although the main nostalgia factor helped with this endeavor thanks to a returning Spider-Man villain or two, like Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, the threequel also did its part to push the web-slinger's narrative into uncharted territory in all aspects. I'm a big Spider-Man fan, I guess I've just had enough of Spider-Boy at this stage.Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to be the talk of the comic-book-movie community as it nears its first full month in theaters with fans unable to get enough of the film's Multiversal mayhem. After having fought alongside The Avengers, stopped The Vulture and helped defeat Thanos and reverse The Snap (sorry, "The Blip"), this movie takes a still ridiculously inept Parker right back to the beginning and basically repeats his Homecoming arc to the letter. Perhaps my biggest gripe with the film is that it feels like a step backwards for Spider-Man. The final set piece is undeniably impressive, however. We're told that these Elementals represent a major threat to the world, but that never comes across and the movie, in general, lacks bite. Unfortunately, the action sequences are also very repetitive with continuous shots of Spidey swinging around giant CGI monsters as they destroy a few buildings. A couple of scenes with Peter and MJ awkwardly flirting is endearing, but it soon becomes a little tedious - even if the actors do have strong chemistry. It's basically a high-school romance with some superhero stuff thrown in, and that's fine. It's a fun movie for the most part and Tom Holland once again does a stellar job as Peter Parker, but I was never fully engaged with the story. I know I'm going to be in the minority on this one, but I thought Far From Home was just okay, and I left the theater quite disappointed. Simply click on the VIEW LIST (ONE PAGE) button below! Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (among others) are expected to return as their respective takes on Spidey, but that's yet to be made official. The still untitled Spider-Man 3 will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man 2actor Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and TASM 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro, along with returning cast members Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Marisa Tomei. Will someone please tell my mom so she can stop asking about this. I like making superhero movies or in that kind of world and I’m sure I’ll find myself in that world again." “I would certainly love to make some kind of movie like that again. That doesn't mean he wouldn't be interested in another superhero role down the line, however. Of course, this wouldn't be the first time an actor denied any involvement with a project only for it to emerge that they were telling porkies, but something tells us DeHaan is on the level here. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible.” “I don’t even know how that would be pulled off. “There’s no truth to those rumours,” he said. A rumor did the rounds online recently which claimed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor Dane DeHaan was set to reprise the role of Harry Osborn/Green Goblin for the currently shooting Far From Home follow-up, but it sounds like this particular report may have been more a case of throwing stuff against the wall to see if it sticks.ĭuring an interview with The Radio Times, DeHaan debunked the rumor outright.
